Rev 7 | Terminator: Dark Fate

Seeing Terminator 2 way back in the day was one of the reasons that got me interested in VFX and CGI and when I got the chance to be a part of this project, it was something that I couldn't pass up. Blur was responsible for a small section of the movie involving the Rev7, a predecessor of the Rev9 which is the main villain.

This character consists of 2 parts, the exoskeleton and the liquid-metal component, so we essentially treated it as 2 separate characters. I was responsible for the textures/shaders and the modeling was split among 3 people. For the exoskeleton, the Rev9 was used as a base and I was responsible for the overall model and Hasan Bajramovic modeled the lower legs. The liquid metal was split between Chad Roen and I. And finally, a huge shoutout to everyone who worked tirelessly on this project to make it look as best as it could on such tight deadlines.

Check out the behind the scenes video at end to see all the work that went into this sequence. 😊
